And the Pantone Color of 2024 is Peach Fuzz. Can we just say, we’re all for it.
This color is a photographer’s dream. Especially when we see it almost daily during our incredibly beautiful Hawaii sunrises and sunsets on Maui, Oahu, Big Island, and Kauai. But we’ll get to more of that in a moment!
But, before we go any further, let us introduce ourselves! We’re Shawn and Adam, a husband and wife duo who created our Love + Water photography team on Maui in 2014. Drawing inspo from the gorgeous colors of Maui sunrises and sunsets, we have a series of family, proposal, and maternity shoots and elopements from land and sea.
So, you get why we’re so excited about the Pantone color of the year. Just take a look at our portfolio and the background of our homepage!
This blog will dive deeper into what Peach Fuzz is, how Pantone chose the color of the year, what colors pair well with Pantone’s Color of 2024, and how to successfully and intentionally incorporate it into your Hawaiia photography sessions with us and our team.
Let’s get started!
What is Peach Fuzz?
In Pantone’s words, Peach Fuzz is:
A velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and heart.
A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others and the feelings this creates, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness. Subtly sensual, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of tenderness and communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.
Highly suggestive of good taste, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a gift to the senses, creating a symbiotic relationship between our senses of taste, sight, touch, and scent.
Vogue stated that Peach Fuzz, the light and fruity shade of orange, is a call for human connection. Needless to say, we’re big fans of the soft and warm peach-beige hue between orange and pink.

How Did Pantone Choose Peach Fuzz as the Color of 2024?
Pantone decides the Color of the Year through thoughtful consideration and trend analysis–approaching it in a very pure way without an agenda or personal preferences. It isn’t just decided in one meeting and it isn’t just about color. It’s also about the message they want to convey and how it resonates with what’s happening on a global scale.
In Pantone’s words, they described the hue as “poetic and romantic, a clean peach tone with a vintage vibe, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz reflects the past, yet has been refashioned with a contemporary ambiance.”
Pantone goes on to explain that there is a “need for nurturing, empathy, and compassion that grows ever stronger as does our imaginings of a more peaceful future. We are reminded that a vital part of living a full life is having good health, stamina, and strength to enjoy it.”
Pantone also adds “that in a world that often emphasizes productivity and external achievements, we must recognize the importance of fostering our inner selves and find moments of respite, creativity, and human connection amid the hustle and bustle of modern life.”
And we strongly resonate with that!
As business owners and a small family, focus more on wellbeing and cherishing the little things—like the simple comfort of spending time with our kids or having alone time, have always been at the forefront of our lives.
With this in mind, Pantone “wanted to turn to a color that could focus on the importance of community and coming together with others.”
“The color we selected to be our Pantone Color of the Year 2024 needed to express our desire to be close to those we love and the joy we get when allowing ourselves to tune into who we are. It needed to be a color whose warm and welcoming embrace conveyed a message of compassion and empathy. One that was nurturing and whose cozy sensibility brought people together and elicited a feeling of tactility. One that reflected our feelings for days that seemed simpler but at the same time has been rephrased to display a more contemporary ambiance. One whose gentle lightness and airy presence lifts us into the future.”
After the turmoil felt around the world during 2020-2022, 2024 is all about getting back to ourselves and relishing life’s simple pleasures. Peach Fuzz invites us to take comfort in the ordinary and be true to ourselves – and our business.
What Colors Pair Well With the Pantone Color of 2024, Peach Fuzz?
Looking to bring more Peach Fuzz into your wardrobe? Want to add the Pantone Color of 2024 to your home decor?
These are the colors that pair well with it:
Purple
The blend of these two shades is reminiscent of sunsets and sunrises on Maui. It’s a great way to emphasize and draw attention to visual elements.
Pink
This pairing brings an airy and romantic feeling—often seen at baby showers, weddings, or the edits from a Mau sunrise session! As a decorative setting, it can be a joyful addition.
Red
Though this isn’t a traditional pairing, it sure is bold! We see these shades in a variety of creative ways, most notably in fashion.
Green
This color combo is often seen in nature: fields of grass, flower buds in spring. It can bring a serene, calming feeling or elicit tropical and exotic vibes.
Blue
Combining blue and Peach Fuzz, depending on the shade, can be elegant, calming, natural, or dynamic. Peach can represent the sun and seashells, while blue represents the sky and water.
Light Blue
Because of their contrast, Peach Fuzz and light blue shades will add a soothing element. With a soft, pale blue, this pairing is more subtle and serene.
Darker Shades
Like deep brown mahogany, gold-framed accents, dark green or navy velvet furnishings. The combination with Peach Fuzz will bring a warm, sophisticated vibe.
Earthy Tones
Think tan, brown, cream, terracotta, leafy green, and gold. Since Peach Fuzz is a warm tone, it plays well with colors seen in nature.
